There you go, fixed it for ya.
Max weapons are cheap. Weapons with special skins and FOTM mods are expensive.

The idea of creating builds and using thme to the maximum is all for those whom like the idea of being ultimate. Not sharing your build is fine by all. Those who make builds for general use then they feel free topost. You can't tell anyone to not post.
Farming in general, you may try to restrict theposting of certain areas. But in the ned someone will feel the needto share and willpost. They will nerf the zone for a while to make people find a new area if they haven't already. That's the purpose behind Anet. They are the law enforcment of GuildWars. They feel that an area is over used they will shut it down til a time when it isn't as popular. For the beginning i'd say 3 weeks of Factions people will have thier own zones that are not know. Collecting items while others are finding things they aren't. That is why people farm. Too find an item that no one has and sell for the best price possible. The whole purpose behind farming.
I myself have come up with at least in general 4-6 builds that I haven't shared. For the sole purpose of not wanting people to change or ask questions about what I could do to change it for their benefit. Example: A troll build I had made. It was for axe warrior and a friend had seen my notes on it. (Yes. I write all my builds down in a 3-ring journal to save for later use. Or for making changes.) And he wanted me to change it around for a sword Warrior. I don't make builds for myself then go around changing it all to fit someone elses needs. My builds are my own for the sole purpose of using to my advantage. Simple as that.
Anyone who wants to post about feel free. You want to see everyone on Guild Wars: Factions have a good time and experience. So do your own thing and share. For whom don't wish to share then don't. Keepyour spots to yourself and make cash. You can't force upon or ask an extreme majority to go by youe own set rules. Therefore just do what makes the experience of the game enjoyable for yourself not for others.

What I get pissed off is the company itself... Anet. First there is the hard limitation of being able to use only 8 skills. Then they force us to constantly change and adapt to the changing scenarios and different mobs. These changes need different builds, armor sets, weapons, etc, etc. This is not a game where one build, one armor set and one weapon works anywhere and everywhere like other games *cough* World of Warcraft *cough*
Has any developer fcking seen how much any decent weapon costs? Where does one get the gold required for all these? Why dont they try to do something productive like controlling the inflation OR trying to implement an auctioning system in the game? Instead all they keep doing is nerf different builds that allows you to earn some much needed gold OR nerf some good farming spot.
|
How the hell are the supposed to control an inflation? Buy limiting supply or demand, depending whats causing it. Decent Weapons are cheap to get, infact they are free to get, go figure. Look at the hyporcracy of your post, You want a place where ppl can earn lods of cash, and at the same time you want to control inflation? Ever wondered why the Governments didnt start mass publishing currency notes to pay all their bills? You think governments are stupdid when they take billions of dollars of loans? You think those economists who spend like dunno...entire lifes studying economics and go work in federal banks are idiots? when they could just print more money and exchange it and get all the dollars they need?
When everyone has more money, they will all be willing to pay more, hence hyper inflation, it will just kill the new players.
ANet has done a great job so far. keep nerfing where nerfs are required.

Great job. I did the same thing. Started 3 weeks ago with 23k. On this day, I now have 456k and a few unsold ecto. Waiting for all the confusion such as price raising/dropping is going to end sometime. All you have to do is set a limit of days that you not buy anything and only save will aid you in getting items later at a more stable price. Although I have endulged on the drop in rune prices in hopes that they will indeed increase again. Example: Monk Superior Runes/ Absorbtion Runes/ Vigor Runes...I save all my mods from items I salvage and the materialsfrom them. Sell here and there. Keep most for any new character I pre-make a build for. Then go with it. All you need to do if you want to have mroe fun is use a character already made. And farm areas of decent pay. Save it up for a while. Then see the end results.

So many people have made this argument time and time again. There are over a million copies of GW out there. No, not everyone is really playing and there are people who have more than one account. But let's say that about a 1/4 million really play it. Of those maybe another 10% farm a lot. That's about 25,000 farmers (not including bot farmers). If you find that perfect farming spot and the perfect build for it, chances are someone else has too or will real soon. Do you really think that many people will be quiet? Be realistic. It's a stupid argument, not to mention childish and selfish.
Finally, it's A FREAKING GAME!!! It's supposed to be fun. If you take farming this seriously, please go outside and get some fresh air. While you're out there, you might even see a real live person you can communicate with and who knows what then. Maybe even get a life?

Guys, if ever you find out that the best way to get rich is to win HoH, just don't tell anybody, 'kay? And if ever you know that that one little lucky drop will net you more than the rest of your 9 months farming, just don't tell anyone either, 'kay?

I seriously agree that this is just a game, but believe it or not, some people take it more seriously than us. For some of us, "Life" is going out with friends, hangin' out with our gf/bf, smoking weed, stealing cars, and etc....for some, playing GW and taking it seriously is their life. NON of us has the right to tell other people how to live their life as how we see fit. No flame intended on you, it just annoys me everytime I see someone say "get a life" in regards to how other people take this game more seriously and how much time they put in this game.

I like cookies..*pulls out cookie from jar and looks at you* My cookie. *pulls toward self and turns slightly so you can't see cookie* But meh. You seem like a good person and willing to defend anything you post with logic and not sheer force. If you have MSN Messenger I wouldn't mind chatting with you sometime. But to stay on topic. Its good to see that ,many people share veiws and are not totally refusing to acknowledge anothers input. Sharing is for the better, but keeping increase your own joy. Simple yet sutle.

As long as you have a forum with public knowledge it will be known and to be honest even if it was "hidden" anet knows.
They can look at wealth account and look at there movement patterns or even have a simple if X character enter Y zone more then X times per Y time frame = log that for closer look.
Remeber when they removed a chest in one of the shiverpeaks zone and the forum was "OMG oh no" by a very select few and the rest where "there was a chest there?" (aka anet new about it but the fourms did not in mass)
I agree to this, if you don't want your special spot to be "public" to tell it to the world. 9 out of 10 times someone else will find it and make it public knowledge.

Very well said. Well said indeed. I myself am one of those whom play GuildWars seriously. I may spend on average about 7-8 hours a day on the game but I still find time to be with my friends , family, and my mate. I use the weekends for such times. But during the week after college classes is when i spend alont of time playing Guild Wars. To let time go by faster you could say. And keeps my mind going trying to think of new builds or strategies. Which that is what Guild Wars is about strategies. Not ,"Going in with arms flailing.", inother words go in and beat the snot til it dies sorta game. That is what has me you could say addicted in a light way to the game. I love a challenge and Guild War provides just that.

No offense taken. I realize that to a few people, this game is very important and I mean no offense to them at all. It's just when I see stuff like this, it really bugs the poop out of me. As noted here, this is a public forum and the game itself is supposed to be about community. If the OP doesn't want to share his builds, more power to him. But it's ludicrous to ask others not to share.

To all the people whining that he doesn't want to share his "uber cool" stuff with you...
If it really bothers you, please take note that you could just as easily assume he's lying through his teeth to either agitate people or make himself feel better. It doesn't matter which perspective you choose to view the claims from since he precluded any possibility of proving them one way or another.
Newsflash: the world contains emotionally unstable people who try to exert dominance in unhealthy ways. Learn to deal with it, because they're everywhere in both cyber and meatspace.

To the first poster:
I think your request goes against what these forums and the Guild Wars community are about. I, for one, will share any builds and spots I find.
